I Switched to Reverse Diet. Why Are My Calories the Same/Lower?

Modified on Mon, 24 Jul, 2023 at 10:55 AM

When this happens, it’s usually because you started the reverse diet setting after the macros were changed in your last weigh-in. For instance, if you weighed in while on the weight loss setting, your calories may have dropped (because you didn’t lose enough weight/fat). Then, after switching to reverse diet, the macros went up, but not higher than they were before your last weigh-in, so it appeared as though they dropped.

Whenever you start a reverse diet, you’ll be given the option to add a “calorie boost” that will start you at a higher level of calories (only at the beginning of the reverse). If you’ve already selected the reverse diet option, this won’t be available to you. If you want to start off with higher calories, reach out to our Coaching Team at coaching@avatarnutrition.com.
