Avatar Nutrition works great for endurance athletes because of its adaptive nature. 

Endurance athletes tend to require a very high calorie intake to support their activity, and the system will ultimately detect this based on data collected at weigh-ins and adjust the macro recommendations accordingly. 

 

For example, if your goal is weight loss and you lose too much weight eating the amount recommended by the system (because your energy needs are so high), your target macros will increase so that next week you lose less weight. This will ensure that the calorie deficit is the minimum needed to lose the amount of weight you’d like, which will help prevent a decline in performance.


Over time, with repeated weigh-ins, the system will “learn” your body and adjust to you and your needs.


There is also a lot of flexibility with carbs and fat, which makes planning for long event sessions much easier. You can use the Edit Balance slider in the tracker to exchange carbs and fat as needed to support your nutritional needs for training and events.
