Between 60 and 80% of women with PCOS have some level of insulin resistance, causing many to wonder if they should reduce their carb intake to control blood sugar and lose weight. But what helps most with PCOS is controlling overall calorie intake, and a low-carb diet hasn’t been shown to be superior to a higher-carb diet for weight loss when calories and protein are matched.

For those with insulin resistance who are overweight, simply being in a calorie deficit and losing weight will likely improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar levels. If you aren't overweight or continue to have high blood sugar despite being in a calorie deficit and losing weight, feel free to set your carb/fat slider in Diet Settings all the way toward fat. For some users, this may have a modest effect on blood sugar levels and would be worth trying out.
