Do I Need to Cycle Creatine?

Modified on Mon, 15 Jan, 2018 at 3:31 PM

You don’t need to cycle creatine.

The idea that creatine needs to be cycled mainly comes from the misconception that your body completely stops making its own creatine when you supplement it. Although natural creatine production may be somewhat suppressed while taking creatine, production quickly bounces back (within a few days) after you stop taking it. This is different from steroids, where always being “on” causes serious problems when you come off.

There is also a myth floating around that you can develop a tolerance to creatine, but this simply isn’t true.
