Obtaining an accurate weight is essential for the system to adjust your macros properly. To ensure that you provide the most accurate information possible, we recommend you:

  1. Weigh yourself multiple times per week and enter your average weight at check-in
  2. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning before eating and after using the bathroom

  3. Use the same scale every time you weigh in

Weighing yourself either every day or several times a week and taking the average washes out error caused by minor weight fluctuations. Minor fluctuations in weight can be caused by stress, hormonal changes, menstrual cycle, lack of sleep, sudden changes in carbohydrate and/or sodium intake, alterations in bowel movements, and alcohol consumption (read more about what causes weight fluctuations here).

There are circumstances where you may only choose to weigh yourself once per week rather than every day, for example:

  • Your weight tends to be pretty steady (you’re not prone to weight fluctuations)

  • Your busy work schedule doesn’t permit daily weighing

  • You experience significant psychological stress each time you weigh yourself
